  • 1991–2000: Ph.D., University of Bucharest, Department of Mineralogy and Petrography. The thesis was defended with Magna cum laude in July 2000. The title of the thesis: Studiul tefrologic şi vulcanologic al tufurilor vulcanice Badenian inferioare din nord-vestul Bazinului Transilvaniei (Tephrological and petrological study of the Lower Badenian volcanic tuffs from the north-western part of the Transylvanian Basin).
